THREATPIE at the European Digital and Media Literacy Conference

The THREATPIE team is going to participate in the European Digital and Media Literacy Conference in Brussels. The conference will be an attractive venue to share the project’s key findings as it is focused on showcasing and exchanging initiatives, tools, projects, and practices that can strengthen European cooperation and the future of Digital and Media Literacy.

This conference is organized under the auspices of the Belgian presidency of the Council of the European Union 2024 as part of the European Digital and Media Literacy Conference week.

THREATPIE at the Exploring the Intersection of Digital Media, Democracy, and Civil Society in CEE Conference

During the Exploring the Intersection of Digital Media, Democracy, and Civil Society in Central and Eastern Europe Conference, the THREATPIE team collaborated with the Institute of Journalism and Media Communication and the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Silesia in Katowice to host a panel discussion.

The session titled The Threats and Potentials for Democracy: Changing Political Information Environment included an executive summary of the project’s key findings, followed by discussions with city officials, academics, and journalists, including:

  • Ulrike Klinger, Professor for Digital Democracy at the European New School for Digital Studies at European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder)

THREATPIE at the ECREA Political Communication Section Conference

During the ECREA Political Communication Section Conference, the THREATPIE team, in cooperation with the DATADRIVEN project, hosted a panel discussion that included an executive summary of the project’s key findings and a stakeholder round-table session.

At the outset, participants were provided with a concise overview of the THREATPIE and DATADRIVEN research findings, followed by an in-depth exploration of potential solutions to the challenges present in today’s public political discourse. A key focus was placed on addressing the pervasive issue of misinformation.

This roundtable discussion brought together representatives from diverse stakeholders who play an active role in devising practical responses to the risks posed by misinformation. These stakeholders represent perspectives from the policy-making process and journalistic practices, including:
